EMAIL AUTHENTICATION GUIDE

How to Authenticate Your Email Domain in Systeme.io in 2026

Systeme.io currently requires authentication of a custom sending domain. Add the generated three CNAME records and DMARC record to DNS, then separately verify the sender email address before campaign sending.

Email domain protected by DNS authentication records including CNAME and DMARC for Systeme.io
KEY TAKEAWAYSysteme.io requires domain authentication for platform email sending. The current setup generates three CNAME records plus a DMARC record that must be added to your DNS before using the domain as a sender.

Authenticate a custom domain before relying on Systeme.io for campaign sending

Systeme.io states that domain authentication is mandatory for sending emails through its platform. Authentication gives receiving mail systems stronger evidence that Systeme.io is authorized to send on behalf of your domain.

This does not guarantee inbox placement by itself, because list quality and engagement still matter. It is nevertheless a foundational technical requirement before you judge the deliverability of a new campaign setup.

Add the sending domain without the www prefix in email settings

Open Settings, then Emails and the Domains section, and enter the custom domain without www. Systeme.io then generates the DNS records specific to that domain and account.

A domain can only be authenticated in one Systeme.io account or sub-account at a time. If the domain already belongs to another active configuration, resolve that ownership before trying to use it in the new account.

Publish the three CNAME records and the DMARC TXT record exactly as provided

The current documentation generates three CNAME records and a DMARC record that must be added at your DNS provider. Copy the names and values from your own Systeme.io account rather than using values from a help-center screenshot.

DNS interfaces vary by provider, so watch for hosts that automatically append the domain name to the record host. A duplicated domain suffix is a common configuration mistake and can prevent verification even when the visible values look similar.

Use an active custom domain rather than a personal mailbox domain

Systeme.io does not let you authenticate personal provider domains such as Gmail, Yahoo or ProtonMail because you do not control their DNS. Use a domain owned by your business or website instead.

The platform also warns that the authenticated domain should lead to an active website rather than a 404 page. A working domain supports a more credible sender identity and avoids an additional deliverability risk signal.

Verify DNS propagation and confirm the sender email address separately

After publishing the records, verify that the CNAME and DMARC values resolve correctly. DNS changes can take time to propagate, so do not repeatedly rewrite correct records simply because the status has not changed immediately.

Authentication and sender verification are separate steps. Systeme.io also requires you to confirm the sender email address associated with the domain by opening the verification message and completing the confirmation process.

Troubleshoot DNS verification and request the final support check

If a CNAME still fails verification, look up its full DNS name including your domain, and compare the returned target with the exact record issued by Systeme.io. Check whether your DNS provider automatically appends the domain to the host field, and verify the DMARC TXT record separately.

Systeme.io's official instructions ask you to contact support after adding the records, even if all three CNAME checks pass. Share a screenshot of the DNS records if verification is stuck, without sharing account credentials. Then confirm the sender email address before launching your campaign.

Send controlled test messages before a large campaign

Once the domain and sender address are verified, send test messages to several mailbox providers and inspect the sender identity, links and rendering. This confirms that the configuration works from the recipient side as well as inside the settings screen.

Increase volume only after the technical setup is stable and the list is clean. Authentication helps establish legitimacy, but sending to unengaged or non-consenting contacts can still damage deliverability regardless of perfect DNS records.

BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

Check these four signals.

✓A custom domain rather than a personal mailbox domain is used
