How to Create a Coupon Code in Systeme.io in 2026
Create the coupon with a fixed or percentage discount, configure expiration and use limits, attach it to the intended order form and test its full billing effect before sharing the code.

Create the coupon as a reusable commercial rule before editing the checkout
Open Assets and Coupons, create a new coupon and give it an internal name plus the code customers will enter. Keeping the coupon definition separate from the page lets you understand the discount rule before deciding where it should appear.
Use a code that is easy to type accurately but not so generic that customers apply it accidentally. Document the campaign or audience that is supposed to receive it so old codes do not remain active without a clear purpose.
Choose between a fixed amount and a percentage discount
A fixed discount removes a specific amount from the price, while a percentage discount reduces the price proportionally. Systeme.io requires a currency when the coupon uses a fixed amount because the value must be interpreted in the same monetary context as the offer.
Calculate the result on the actual price plans where the code will be used. The same percentage can create very different absolute discounts across products, while a fixed amount can be inappropriate if the checkout offers multiple currencies or prices.
Set the expiration and usage limit exactly as the promotion requires
Systeme.io's current coupon documentation states that the expiration date should be chosen with the calendar control rather than typed manually. It also allows the usage-limit field to remain blank when the coupon should not have a maximum number of users.
Before publishing the code, decide whether the limit is based on a real campaign constraint or simply an arbitrary scarcity tactic. The checkout behavior and the marketing message should agree about when the discount stops being available.
Attach the coupon to the correct order form and place the coupon element on the page
Open the intended order-form settings, add the coupon in the Coupons area and save the configuration. Then edit the page and place the Coupon element where the customer can enter the code without searching through the checkout.
Confirm that a price plan is already attached to the offer and that the coupon is available on the exact payment page used by the live funnel. A coupon created in Assets does not automatically appear on every checkout in the account.
Understand how the discount behaves on subscriptions and payment plans
Systeme.io currently documents that a coupon attached to a subscription or installment payment plan is applied on the recurring due dates covered by that discount setup. That can create a much larger total discount than a merchant intended if only the first payment was considered.
Calculate the full billing effect before promoting the code. If the commercial intention is a one-time incentive, confirm that the chosen price and discount structure actually produces that result instead of silently reducing every installment.
Test valid, expired and incorrect coupon scenarios on the live checkout
Open the order form in a private browser session, enter the valid code and verify the displayed price before completing any controlled test transaction. Also try an invalid code so the customer-facing error state is understandable.
When practical, verify expiration and usage-limit behavior with a short-lived test coupon before creating the production promotion. A discount campaign should not begin until the amount, checkout element and billing consequences have all been observed on the live page.
Check these four signals.
✓The correct discount type, amount and currency are configured
✓Expiration and usage limits match the campaign
✓The coupon element is active on the intended order form
✓Subscription or installment effects are calculated before launch
